Valley Donates Pickup to ZooMontana

Good News/Bad News

Bad News - On July 10th, a ZooMontana vehicle was broken into and stolen from the property. While trying to escape the suspect drove through the Zoo's security gate. This impact disabled the vehicle several miles down the road, although the location of the vehicle was not disclosed to the Zoo until approximately one month later. The vehicle was disabled beyond repair, causing the loss of a crucial piece of equipment for the Zoo.

Good News - To help the Zoo with this burden, Valley has donated a 2012 Ford F-150 to replace the totaled vehicle. "Valley Credit Union continues to be a good steward of our community, and in particular, ZooMontana. Their support of our efforts at the Zoo has been nothing short of incredible and includes the building of a world class Bison exhibit, support that led to our accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and now, this beautiful vehicle. This truck will be crucial in helping us fulfill our mission through animal feed pickup, to wildlife rescue, etc... All of us at ZooMontana, both two-legged and four-legged, thank Valley Credit Union for their unwavering support and belief in our cause." -Jeff Ewelt The Executive Director of Zoo Montana.

Big Sky Senior Services

While there is no event this year with duck races, fortunately, we were still able to sell ducks in our lobbies. Each year, all the credit unions in Billings, MT sell ducks to raise money for Big Sky Senior Services. Their mission is "Senior Citizens deserve the right to live in their homes, safe and free from abuse. Regardless of their ability to pay, Big Sky Senior Services provides services that promote independence, enhance quality of life and prevent elder abuse." This year we raised $2,645 with the special help from our amazing members.

Big Sky Senior Services awards this trophy to whichever credit union raises the most money for the Rubber Duck Regatta. The trophy will reside at our Custer Ave Branch as they raised the most money between our branches. So please stop by the branch and ask to see the trophy you helped us win again. Congratulations to our Custer Ave Branch and to the rest of the credit unions that helped raise money for a great cause!

Pay-It-Forward

A few weeks ago, we did a Pay-It-Forward at The Sourdough Bagel in Downtown Billings where we paid for everyone's orders for one hour. While we were there a staff member from Billings Central High School came in with a large order for the faculty at the school. Valley gladly added their bill to our total as teachers are going to have a challenging year in 2020-21. Recently, we received a package in the mail from Central High School that included a blanket and a thank you card. This generosity blew us away, thank you so much. Keep up the great work and we wish you the best during this school year!
