Youth Certificate Special!

Valley Credit Union's Youth Certificate special is back for the month of April!

  • 12.68% APY*
  • $100 min/max deposit
  • 12 month term

Valley Credit Union recognizes the increasing significance of financial literacy for young individuals in our community. As a result, we have introduced several initiatives in April, including scholarships, a Youth Certificate promotion, The Hive, and a Valleydictorian grant, to name a few.

The Hive

Are you interested in watching some of the brightest entrepreneurial minds from our local high schools pitch their business ideas? Mark your calendars and plan to attend The Hive, starting at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at Petro Theatre at Montana State University - Billings (1500 University Dr, Billings, MT 59101).

This event is completely FREE for the community to attend, and the audience will have the ability to vote on the People's Choice Award (compliments of TEDxBillings). There will be a total of $8,000 in prizes awarded to these young entrepreneurs!

Check out our Facebook event for more details.

$5,000 Valleydictorian Grant

Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, Valley Credit Union and The Billings Gazette will feature 16 seniors selected from high schools in our area. These students, nominated by a teacher, counselor, or principal, have demonstrated a clear career path for their future in the form of an industry certification, technical associate degree, city college, trade school, or apprenticeship. As the school year comes to an end, Valley will award one $5,000 grant to a deserving student.

Youth Fraud Prevention Tips

Here are some important tips to help you protect your personal and financial information from fraud and scams:

  • Be cautious with personal information: Do not give out your full name, date of birth, social security number, or debit/credit card information to anyone unless you are 100% sure it is a trustworthy source
  • Verify requests for money: Do not wire money, send gift cards, or provide your bank account information in response to unexpected requests via email, phone, or social media
  • Beware of job scams: Do not fall for "work from home" scams that promise easy money for little work
  • Watch out for phishing scams: Be careful of unsolicited emails or text messages asking for personal information
  • Protect your devices: Use strong passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and keep your software up-to-date to prevent hackers from accessing your personal information
  • Monitor your accounts: Regularly check your bank and credit card statements for any unauthorized charges or suspicious activity

Remember, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Stay vigilant and don't hesitate to reach out to Valley Credit Union if you suspect any fraud.
