Alberta Bair Theater Sponsorship Renewed for 10th Year!

Valley Credit Union announces the 10th consecutive renewal of its $20,000 sponsorship of Alberta Bair Theater’s Student Matinee Series for its upcoming 2021-22 season. This sponsorship helps the theater bring in top talent to perform as a part of the education program for students of all grade levels throughout the region.

"Creating opportunities for our youth to learn and grow within the community is something our credit union is proud to support," said Brandon Scala, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Valley Credit Union. "The enrichment these performances bring extends beyond the stage and directly into our schools and community gathering spaces, uniting and inspiring us all."

The Student Matinee Series serves public, private, and home schools – as well as the general public. These programs are specifically designed with students in mind, and each show is recommended for specific grade levels ranging from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. Through the funds and support provided by Valley and the community, the theater can offer a more complete program, from scheduling quality productions and offering discounted rates for students, to providing study guides with specific program information that links back to classroom curriculum, discussion questions regarding the production’s content, and activities to enhance everyone’s time at the theater.

Alberta Bair Theater (ABT) recently completed a large-scale renovation to revitalize the near century-old theater bringing new life to this downtown icon. The coming 2021-22 season will be the first year of live shows in the renovated building. ABT has also announced the return of school buses to the theater for the upcoming school year.

"We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of Valley Credit Union for our Student Matinee Series, which brings more than 20,000 students to the theater each school year from a 200+ mile radius of Billings," said Jan Dietrich, Executive Director at the Alberta Blair Theater. "Knowing we can count on this partnership enables us to program the quality content our educators want to supplement their classroom experiences."

Valley has a long history of supporting ABT with sponsorship beginning in 2012. The credit union also assisted in the theater’s renovation by donating $25,000 to its capital campaign. To learn more about ABT and the Student Matinee Program visit www.albertabairtheater.org.

Billings Kiwanis Movies Under the Stars at the Zoo

Valley is proud to once again be a major sponsor of the Billings Kiwanis FREE movies played at ZooMontana. Part of our sponsorship allowed us to do a large check presentation to the Peace Institute before the filming of Spirit on June 11th.

Valley's Supervisory Committee

Are you potentially interested in serving as a member of Valley’s Supervisory Committee?

The Supervisory Committee is responsible for pursuing ongoing reviews and audits to make sure that the credit union’s records are maintained honestly and accurately. They also make sure that the policies established are carried out faithfully and that member’s assets are safe guarded and used properly by the credit union.

The Supervisory Committee is made up of Valley members who are interested in fulfilling this role. The Committee meets monthly at 7am and oversees how different responsibilities of the credit union are being carried out. These positions do not require extensive financial knowledge but a willingness to learn and a desire to help make Valley the best are important.

Roundup Independence Days Extravaganza (RIDE)

Valley is also proud to once again be a $1,000 Minuteman Sponsor of the 4th of July festivities that take place in Roundup.

These year's headlining acts include Joe Nichols on July 3rd and Hotel California on July 2nd. RIDE is a 3-day event to celebrate the 4th of July in an authentic Montana style!

RIDE's goals are:

To celebrate our country’s independence in authentic Montana fashion - with a community focus that is centered around family and friends gathering together.
To increase the economic stability and vitality of the community by growing the size of the event each year.
To expand the Musselshell Valley Community Foundation’s (MVCF) charitable grant program and enable the growth of other non-profits’ capacity.
Since 2005 R.I.D.E. has been successfully planned and administered by an all-volunteer group that is committed to growing the size of the event and meeting the expense of more recognized entertainers. A percentage of the proceeds of the 2014 event were donated to a volunteer group that is building a community stage in Roundup City Park to enable more arts and culture events. In 2015 50% of the net profits from the event will be donated to MVCF’s charitable grant program which increases the vitality of the community and the remainder will be used to expand the following year’s event. Also, non-profit organizations in the area are encouraged to participate in R.I.D.E through outreach and fundraising efforts, free of charge.
